But what is the origin of Terrazzo anyway? Terrazzo is a composite material thought to be created by the Venetians made of marble clippings that are set in cement. I tend to think of Terrrzzo as a modern application, but archaeologists have found this type of flooring dating back 8,000-10,000 years ago. While Terrazzo is expensive, it is a sustainable product that uses recycled materials.
